When you’re producing an item, your sustainability responsibility extends far beyond the time the product leaves your hands. Where our clothes end up is just as important as where they came from.

For every kg of textiles that avoids landfill, an average of 3-4kg of greenhouse gases is prevented from polluting the atmosphere. With 25 billion garments globally going to landfills yearly, that's a serious impact.

Our R&D and supply chain teams are working diligently toward the goal of a 95% of Deane garments diverted from landfill by 2028. As technology improves and the global supply chain wakes up to the demand for a circular economy, we’re proud to be leading sustainable efforts through consideration of the following areas:

  • Fabric composition
  • The complexity of trims and garment additions such as screen printing, embroidery and high visibility tape
  • Logistics
  • Cost

Deane partners with BlockTexx, a clean technology company converting old textiles into rPET and cellulose, and Upparel, Australasia's leading textile recovery and recycling company.

We're also a foundation partner and an active contributor to the textile reuse company, Usedfully.

Our approach is to work closely with each our customers to best match the garment end-of-life solution to their uniform programme and business needs, helping them to divert as much textile waste from landfill as possible.
