BlockTexx is a clean technology company driven to help companies divert unwanted clothing away from landfill.
Based in Logan, Queensland, BlockTexx's world-first SOFT (separation of fibre technology) process takes cotton and polyester waste and turns it into high-grade cellulose powder and rPET pellets that can be used for a range of industrial and manufacturing applications delivering full circularity for garment waste.
Typical garment trims such as elastic, zips, metal buttons, reflective tape and pressed studs need to be removed from garments before processing. This decommissioning process can be time-consuming and a cost deterrent. Deane's product development team is working closely with BlockTexx to design garments and trims, bypassing the decommissioning process and going straight into processing, meaning the garment is 100% recyclable.
