Workplace Conditions Assessment

Workplace Conditions Assessment LogoThe Workplace Conditions Assessment (WCA) from UK-based Intertek, the third-largest social compliance audit company worldwide, is a web-based programme for companies and facilities seeking to improve workplace conditions.

It provides documented, independent assurance that Deane clothing is produced in factories that meet widely accepted industry standards and best practices.

Amongst other things, Intertek audits Deane's partner factories annually for:

  • HEALTH AND SAFETY
General work facility, emergency preparedness, occupational injury, machine safety, safety hazards, chemical and hazardous materials, dormitory and canteen.

  • MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
Documentation and records, worker feedback and participation, audits and corrective action process.

  • LABOUR
Child / forced labour, discrimination, discipline, harassment / abuse, freedom of association and labour contracts.

  • ENVIRONMENT
Legal compliance, environmental management systems, waste and air emissions.

  • WAGES & HOURS
    Wages, benefits and working hours.

The WCA's Audits Reports are easy to read and readily allows for benchmarking.
