Plastic Reduction

Plastic is wreaking havoc on the planet, and we’re on a mission to see it reduced.

When it comes to plastic packaging, we believe less is more. Minimisation of these materials has been a fundamental driver of our sustainability efforts, when we started replacing individual garment bags with plastic box liners.

Today, elimination is our goal. One we’re working towards daily, through efforts like removing plastic components in our packaging, which has seen us save 1.7 million plastic bags, 32,000 collar stays, 32,000 butterflies and 60,000 pegs from landfill each year.

In 2021 we converted all New Zealand courier bags to meet AS 5810-210, the Australian and New Zealand standard for Home Compostability. We've also prioritised reducing packing at the product stage.

Through our parent company, Alsco, Deane Apparel is a member of the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO), and we're working towards meeting its Sustainable Packaging Guidelines.
