Oceania

Case Study

Oceania

With strong values based around care, dignity and the importance of independence for residents, Oceania staff emphasise patience and empathy.

It was important for Deane to create a care uniform that would allow Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants to uphold these values while performing their roles at Oceania’s aged care facilities efficiently and effectively.

Deane’s relationship with the company started well before the Oceania brand name existed and we have dressed over 3,000 staff in all areas of the enterprise. Our custom built ranges have been developed through trialing processes – all designed and made specifically for Oceania.

We also supply kitchen, maintenance and front-line staff from our Deane stock lines, all of which ensure these dedicated people are able to carry out their jobs whilst being safe and comfortable in their workwear.

Oceania places an emphasis on making retirement and aged care facilities warm and welcoming and this has seen the company pick up a number of prestigious awards. It is a dynamic and constantly changing company and we have worked carefully with Oceania to manage detailed wearer trials and fittings to create the perfect uniform for Nurses and Assistants. Like us, Oceania demands the strictest ethical sourcing standards.

We’re excited to be currently working with Oceania on a new brief, which will see all front-line staff update their image to reflect the changes in the vision of this dynamic company.

It has been a pleasure for us to evolve with New Zealand’s largest supplier of aged care facilities over the years. We treasure our long association with Oceania Healthcare based on the belief that Oceania, like Deane, is a company that puts its clients first.

Gleena Mae Cortez - Oceania

The People

Designed for Comfort and Movement

While Deane’s uniform lines stand out from the crowd, our garments are also renowned for comfort and reliability and these objectives are never compromised. As a Healthcare Assistant and Activity Co-ordinator for aged care business, Oceania, Gleena Mae Cortez gets ready for work at the Te Mana Rest Home knowing she can rely on her uniform for maximum comfort and minimal movement restrictions.

Every Oceania care uniform is easily washable as we use top quality fabric, so Gleena and the rest of her team do not need to worry about spending their time cleaning their workwear – they can just pop it in the machine and enjoy their time at home.

Originally from the Philippines where she was a nurse, Gleena became a Healthcare Assistant while she was still studying and will soon commence a bridging course to allow her to practice as a nurse in New Zealand. With so little free time in the day, Glenda can spend time with her family and friends rather than thinking about her uniform.

For Gleena, her uniform represents her special role at the rest home. Guests can recognise her in her tunic which adds to the calming environment with its tranquil design and soft colours. Deane provides Gleena with comfortable clothing that she can rely on and that gives her the freedom to make the most of her time whilst she studies.
