How we're saying goodbye to single-use coffee cups

24/07/2024

Hi there, fellow coffee lovers!Reusable cups

We know how much you enjoy your daily dose of caffeine, whether it's a flat white, a long black, or a mocha. But did you know that every time you order a takeaway coffee in a disposable cup, you're contributing to a huge environmental problem?

According to recent estimates, Australians use 1.8 billion single-use coffee cups every year, and New Zealanders use 295 million. That's a lot of cups that end up in landfill, or worse, in our oceans and waterways, harming wildlife and ecosystems.

As a company that cares about our planet and our people, we decided to take action and reduce our impact on the environment. We’ve set a goal of 75% reduction to landfill from our operations. That means we need to rethink how we use and dispose of our resources, and find ways to reuse, recycle, or compost them.

That's why we're excited to announce that we've launched a reusable cup library in our offices. This means we'll no longer accept any single-use coffee cups in our offices or at any company events or meetings. Instead, we'll provide reusable cups that you can borrow, use, and return. It's like a library, but for cups!

We think this is a great way to encourage our staff and visitors to adopt a more sustainable habit, and to show our support for local businesses that are doing the same. Plus, we get to enjoy our coffee in a more stylish and comfortable way, without the guilt of adding to the waste problem.

They're a social enterprise that sources their beans from fair trade and organic farms, and roasts them in a solar-powered facility. They also offer a discount for customers who bring their own cups, which is a win-win for everyone.

We hope you'll join us in our mission to say goodbye to single-use coffee cups, and hello to a greener and happier future. Next time you're in the mood for a coffee, why not bring your own cup, or borrow one from our library? You'll be doing yourself, and the planet, a favour.
