This year has been pretty tough for a lot of people. Arguably, for some people, the toughest year yet. It's really shown us how important it is to come together and support each other. At Deane, we're all about embracing this spirit, especially during the festive season when a little extra compassion goes a long way.

What’s Deane Doing?

Our wonderful Lauren, from our New Zealand Sales Team has championed the Christmas Box cause. She and her family will be among the 1,000 volunteers packing and distributing Christmas Boxes to families across Tāmaki Makaurau.

We had lots of generous donations but a massive shoutout to our Supply and Finance Teams who decided to skip their Secret Santa this year and use that money to buy groceries for the Christmas Box cause. A big hug to organiser extraordinaire, Vera for the great idea and then making it happen 👊🏼.

And over in Australia, our team have been involved with The Rev Bill Crews Foundation. An amazing organisation that our sister company, Alsco Uniforms have a long association with. Bill Crews’ famous Loaves & Fishes Free Restaurants serve healthy, free meals to the homeless and hungry of Sydney, 7-days a week. Along with a whole range of services to alleviate the causes and effects of homelessness and poverty.

Our Deane team helped prepare for lunch; prepping 40 trays of chicken (1000 pieces) and 16 trays of baked potatoes (160kgs). One of our volunteers commented that, “it’s crazy to think this is only 1 day’s meals”.

We’re grateful to be able to support our communities on both sides of the Tasman and we wish everyone a safe and restful holiday season.
